Las Guaracheras is an all-women salsa sextet born in the city of Cali, Colombia in 2017. The ensemble´s cultural and artistic objective is to uplift a female voice within Afro-Latin music and build a more inclusive, diverse, and respectful cultural space for all. Their music communicates joy, memory, and transformation. With vibraphone, percussion, bass, piano, and vocals, Las Guaracheras present an explosive show that provokes dancing, singing as well as reflection.
This engagement of Las Guaracheras is made possible in part through the Performing Arts Global Exchange program of Mid Atlantic Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Yakima Salsa Dance Company will be offering a free salsa class between 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the 4th Street Theatre before the show. Have a beverage and learn to salsa before the show! The 4th Street Theatre is located to the left of the loading dock doors on the 4th Street side of the Theatre.
A $4 fee is added to each ticket to support the upkeep of the historic Capitol Theatre. Learn more here.

Las Guaracheras es un sexteto de salsa compuesto exclusivamente por mujeres, nacido en Cali, Colombia, en 2017. El objetivo cultural y artístico del ensamble es enaltecer la voz femenina dentro de la música afrolatina y construir un espacio cultural más inclusivo, diverso y respetuoso para todos. Su música transmite alegría, memoria y transformación. Con vibráfono, percusión, bajo, piano y voz, Las Guaracheras presentan un espectáculo explosivo que invita al baile, al canto y a la reflexión.
Esta participación de Las Guaracheras es posible en parte gracias al programa de Intercambio Global de Artes Escénicas de Mid Atlantic Arts, con el apoyo del Fondo Nacional para las Artes.
La Compañía de Salsa Yakima ofrecerá una clase de salsa gratuita de 18:00 a 19:00 h en el Teatro 4th Street antes del espectáculo. ¡Disfruta de una bebida y aprende a bailar salsa antes del espectáculo! El Teatro 4th Street se encuentra a la izquierda de las puertas del muelle de carga, en el lado de la calle 4th.
