Experience an unforgettable evening where opera, mariachi bolero, and symphonic music come together on one stage at the iconic Capitol Theatre in Yakima.
Created and produced by award-winning tenor and producer José Iñiguez, Una Noche de Encanto brings Encanto Arts’ signature musical experience to Central Washington for a celebration of music, culture, and community. The evening will feature the CWU Symphony and CWU Choir alongside an extraordinary roster of guest artists, including soprano Jacqueline Itzel Medina Green, tenor José Iñiguez, and mezzo-soprano F. Ivon Pino Leal of Morelia, Michoacán. The performance will be led by guest conductor Maestro Miguel Ángel Alatorre Álvarez of the Secretaría de Educación y Cultura del Estado de Colima, México, with Justin Raffa as Guest Choir Director and Dr. Nikolas Caoile conducting the CWU Symphony.
Audiences will experience beloved vocal and orchestral traditions alongside three special premieres: the world premiere of Al·legoria al cant dels ocells by David Penadés-Fasanar, the U.S. premiere of Viajando por México (Medley) by Miguel Ángel Ayala, and the world premiere of San Marcos 1938 by Simon & Santiago Iñiguez and Encanto Arts. An Experience That Leaves an Impact After participating in Una Noche de Encanto at Loyola University Chicago, student Kristian Chavez reflected on what being part of the production meant to him: “The performance reminded me of the importance of sharing my culture with the Loyola community and inspires me to continue doing so through what I love most: music.” — Kristian Chavez, student and Una Noche de Encanto participant, Loyola University Chicago His reflection captures part of the purpose that has followed Una Noche de Encanto into every community it visits: using music to share culture, create connections, and open stages for the next generation.

“The performance reminded me of the importance of sharing my culture with the Loyola community and inspires me to continue doing so through what I love most: music.”
