Don Quixote brings the passion and vibrancy of Spanish culture to life through music. Richard Strauss’ Don Quixote, a vivid symphonic poem, tells the tale of Cervantes’ legendary knight through rich orchestral storytelling, featuring renowned Cellist Mark Kosower as Don Quixote and our Principal Violist Brian Hillyard as his loyal squire, Sancho Panza. The program also includes Johann Strauss Jr’s lively Spanish March and Manuel de Falla’s ballet El Sombrero de tres picos (The Three-Cornered Hat), a masterpiece of Spanish rhythm and color. This concert is a thrilling celebration of Spain’s musical heritage.

ConcerTalks explore the composers of the works on the concert and their milieu as well as an in-depth look at each composition on the program.

• Group prices (for 10 or more paid tickets) are available. All Group ticket purchases must be coordinated through the YSO office at 509-248-1414 during regular office hours, Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
• Contact Capitol Theatre by phone or in person to purchase student tickets. A student ID or visual age verification for younger children is required to pick up tickets.
