WMEA All-State includes honor groups for youth, middle school and high school students, with nearly 3800 students auditioning for 1620 seats. There is an army of screeners, group managers, site managers, concert managers, room mangers, catering organizers, chaperones, equipment movers, etc., who help make the weekend organized and safe for the students. Conductors for the All-State Ensembles are National and world renowned artists hired specifically for this weekend event.
There are three concerts on Sunday February 16 at 2:00 pm featuring Seven Ensembles. 300 students perform at the Band Concert at Eisenhower High School including the Concert Band, Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble. The Choir Concert at the Yakima Convention Center will showcase the Treble Choir and the Symphonic Choir and 450 students. The two ensembles with 225 students presenting the Orchestra Concert at the Capitol Theatre are the Chamber Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra.
Tickets are required for admittance into WMEA All State Concerts. Tickets will be collected by ushers beginning 30 minutes prior to ticketed event start time. Tickets are non-refundable.
High School All-State tickets are $20 in advance and $25 day of the concert. Children grades 8 and under
admitted free, but do still require a ticket. We recommend printing your ticket at home with your order otherwise the ticket must be picked up at the concert venue the day of the event.
