At the Capitol Theatre, we want every guest to have a smooth and enjoyable experience from the moment they purchase their ticket to the time they take their seat. Occasionally, you may notice that the “Print at Home” option (which also serves as our digital ticket option) is unavailable when purchasing tickets for certain events. We’d like to share the reason behind this temporary change.
Protecting Our Patrons from Ticket Fraud
For some high-demand or particularly popular shows, scammers and third-party resellers attempt to take advantage of unsuspecting patrons. Here’s how the scam typically works:
Unfortunately, in these cases our box office staff cannot verify or transfer the fraudulent ticket, as it was never purchased under the affected patron’s account. Often, the only option for those individuals is to purchase a new, valid ticket—something we want to help our guests avoid.
Our Response: Temporarily Disabling Digital Delivery
To reduce the risk of fraud, we may temporarily disable the “Print at Home” option for certain shows. During these times, tickets can still be received in two secure and free ways:
Both options ensure that your ticket is tied directly to your account and cannot be duplicated and resold.
How to Make Sure You’re Buying Real Tickets
The only official sources for tickets to the Capitol Theatre are:
Tickets purchased through other websites may not be valid, even if they look authentic.
Our Commitment to You
We know it can be less convenient to not have a digital ticket option. However, by taking this extra step, we’re protecting our patrons from the frustration and expense of counterfeit or duplicated tickets. Our goal is always to ensure you can purchase with confidence and enjoy your time at the Capitol Theatre.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep your theatre experience safe and enjoyable.
