Happy Holidays from the Capitol Theatre: A Year in Review

Happy Holidays from the Capitol Theatre
2024 at the Theatre: A Year in Review

As we come to the end of another great year in the Yakima Valley, we want to take a look back at 2024 in the Capitol Theatre.

Capitol Best Series

Before the end of the year, we will have experienced five of the seven shows in our 2024-2025 Capitol Best Season. In 2024, we also welcomed audiences to wonderful performances from the previous season: Johnny Cash, Step Afrika!, The Cher Show, and My Fair Lady. If you haven’t yet been to a Capitol Best show, not to worry, we are still eagerly awaiting the upcoming performances of Annie and The Addams Family in the new year. The stage has been alive this year and there is more to come!

Performances & Community PartnershipsThe 4th Street Theatre as a 400-seat performance space

  • The Capitol hosted 65 events in 2024
  • We welcomed 19 Capitol Theatre events, 15 other performances, 9 youth events, 7 community events along with 4 Yakima Town Hall Speakers and 11 Yakima Symphony Orchestra events
  • Between events, rehearsals, technical preparation and other uses, we used the Theatre approximately 101 days this year and we scanned over 50,000 tickets
  • This year marks a new primary focus of the 4th Street Theatre as a 400-seat performance venue! Engaging and intimate, we are excited to continue to explore and expand programming into our Black Box Theatre.

And it’s all thanks to you

As we close the curtain on 2024, we are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our donors, sponsors, and Capitol Friends. Your generosity is the foundation of our mission to curate dynamic programming, foster community access, and perpetuate the Theatre’s historical and cultural legacy.

The commitment of our community to the arts has not only enriched our theatre but also transformed countless lives. Your support has made it possible for us to provide unforgettable experiences for students, build meaningful partnerships between artists and the community, and maintain the beauty of our historic venue through thoughtful improvements.

As we look ahead to 2025, we invite you to continue this journey with us. Your contributions, no matter the size, make a significant impact and ensure that the Capitol Theatre remains a vibrant cultural hub for our community. If you’re able, please consider making a donation to support our mission and help us bring more extraordinary performances and educational programs to life.

Wishing you a joyful holiday season filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting knowledge that your support creates a lasting impact.
