Canticus is a chamber vocal ensemble consisting of members from the Central Washington area who have auditioned and been selected to be part of a new and exciting choral group.  The artistic goal of Canticus is to present a quality artistic collection of music in an intimate setting such as the 4th Street Theatre.

"Frostiana" is a collection of poems by Robert Frost set to music by Randall Thompson.  First performed in 1958 the work was commissioned to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the founding of Amherst, Massachusetts.  The poetry represents life in New England as experienced by Frost and reflects rural life with spiritual insight.  "Frostiana" is one of Thompson's most popular works having been performed consistently since it was introduced.  We celebrate the work of the CWU Music Department by having the Treble Choir join in the performance.

The Treble Choir is one of four traditional choirs at Central Washington University.  Admittance into Choir is by audition only.  The group consists of a wide range of abilities and majors, all bound together with one unifying characteristic- the members like to sing!

The Treble Choir, under the direction of Dr. Weidenaar, was honored to have been chosen to sing at the 2012 State Music Educator's (WMEA) Conference, here in Yakima.  A premium is placed on connecting with the music and sharing that connection with the audience.  Everything from the silly to the sublime is presented at concerts - where "there is something for everyone".  This performance includes significant contributions by music education Majors, Aly Henniger and Maggie Whiteman - each of whom will be conducting the group.
