Affiniti, the powerhouse Irish female trio, will present their Celtic Christmas Concert and feature Howard Crosby, nephew of Bing Crosby, on both traditional and contemporary Christmas songs. The trio is made up of Ireland’s finest young vocalist, Emer Barry, classical harpist, Aisling Ennis and Mary McCague on violin. The set includes music from their popular holiday CD, The Gift of Music. Affiniti brings new arrangements to songs like “O Holy Night,” “Winter Wonderland” and Mel Torme’s “Christmas Song.” They will join Crosby on his uncle Bing’s biggest hit: “White Christmas.”
Affinití is made up of Emer Barry (Soprano), Aisling Ennis (Harp) and Mary Mc Cague (Violin). All three are classically trained and Masters of their instruments, but it is their genuine affinity with each other and their desire to create and perform together that makes them really special. Their music is hard to define – think the lovechild of Classical and Rock mixed with Celtic blood and that’s Affinití.
Emer (Longford), Mary (Louth) and Aisling (Dublin) all boast intimidating CVs. They have performed as solo and orchestral musicians throughout Ireland, UK, Europe, USA and Asia with artists including Kanye West, Josh Ritter, Bill Bailey, WestLife, Michael Buble, Rod Stewart and Sinead O’Connor. They have been backed by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in concert at Mooney Tunes in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre and the FILMharmonic orchestra Prague for their charity single O Holy Night which reached #1 in the Irish download charts Christmas 2014.
