The Capitol Theatre is looking for a part time janitorial position to assist the janitorial lead in maintaining the cleanliness of the Capitol Theatre, 4th Street Theatre, and associated backstage and crew areas. This is a part time position with a flexible schedule of non-traditional hours. The ideal candidate can work well both as a member of a team and on their own. Prior janitorial experience is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities and Duties
Empties trash from designated dressing rooms, bars, offices, and break areas.
Restocks all janitorial closets and keeps them neat and organized.
Cleans equipment and places equipment in the proper storage area.
Vacuums all theatre areas and offices as directed.
Mops concrete and tile flooring throughout the theatres and backstage areas.
Cleans all public and staff restrooms.
Checks and refills soap, hand towel, and toilet paper dispensers as necessary.
Cleans dressing room restrooms and showers.
Cleans up trash around building, loading docks, ash trays, sidewalks, etc.
Cleans bar and kitchen areas including dishwashing
Occasional laundry of show towels.
Follows daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and checklists.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Must be in good physical and mental health capable of handling the duties and responsibilities of the job.
Must be able to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
Must be able to perform general cleaning tasks to company standard within an established time frame.
Must be polite and considerate of others.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force frequently to lift, carry push or otherwise move objects.
Must be able to work in cold and hot temperatures.
Must be able to follow directions given orally and written in English.
